Why Locals Love Lágrima San Juan
Nestled in the heart of San Juan City, Lágrima San Juan offers a vibrant and authentic Mexican dining experience that delights locals and visitors alike. This cozy Mexican restaurant, located at 192 Wilson, Metro Manila, stands out with its flavorful dishes and casual, welcoming atmosphere—perfect for those craving a genuine taste of Mexico without leaving the city.
The menu at Lágrima San Juan is a celebration of classic Mexican comfort food with a contemporary twist. Their nachos, for instance, are an irresistible appetizer: choose between the rich and creamy Salsa and Queso Sourdough Flour Tortilla Chips (₱400) or the lighter yet equally satisfying Salsa Sourdough Flour Tortilla Chips (₱280). Every chip is perfectly crisp, offering that delicate crunch that pairs beautifully with the fresh, housemade salsas and velvety queso.
When it comes to main dishes, their burritos make a compelling case for indulgence. From the hearty Special Potato with beans, salsa, cheese, and egg (₱620) to the classic version priced just right at ₱520, each burrito is thoughtfully crafted to deliver layers of savory comfort with every bite. But the real stars are found in their set meals, like the After School Special featuring a trio of Gringa, Pollo Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Kimchi Asada for ₱640, or the Starter Pack with flavorful Street, Carnitas, Pollo Asado, and Carne Asada tacos (₱540). For larger groups or serious taco lovers, the Knights Of Round pack offers six carefully curated tacos—Gringa, Carnitas, Pollo Asado, Carne Asada, Pollo Al Pastor, Shrimp, and Fish—amassing an impressive feast for ₱1,290.
What really makes the Lágrima San Juan experience stand out is more than just the food. Customers repeatedly praise the thoughtful touches, like providing plastic gloves for easy, mess-free taco enjoyment, and the vibrant, housemade sauces that come with every dish. The vibe inside the small but charming space is relaxed yet buzzing with energy—a hidden gem tucked away in an unexpected parking lot setting by Wilson.
Regulars like DN praise the starter pack as a must-try, while Anne C appreciates the ability to mix and match taco bases—from crisp street style to tender gringa—with shrimp and mushroom options emerging as fan favorites. Aye Diza’s enthusiasm for the Pollo Asado Gringa perfectly captures the essence of Lágrima’s appeal: soft tortillas enveloping perfectly seasoned grilled chicken, accented by freshly pickled cucumber, creating a flavorful harmony in every bite. Likewise, Leenea Serrano Dy describes the chill and laid-back atmosphere that complements the kitchen’s clear dedication to quality ingredients and balanced flavors.
While some patrons note the San Juan branch as more stripped-down compared to the Salcedo location, the intimate setting adds to the charm—offering a cozy retreat for those eager to unwind with hearty Mexican fare. Service here is consistently friendly and accommodating, amplifying the overall warmth of the dining experience.
In summary, Lágrima San Juan is a standout destination for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Mexican street food with a refined touch. Whether you're craving crispy nachos with fresh salsa, indulgent burritos, or a variety of expertly prepared tacos, this spot delivers with bold flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a welcoming ambiance that beckons you to return again and again.

Fantastic little spot for tacos!! Tried the starter pack and can’t recommend it enough. I wouldn’t have been able to spot this place if a friend didn’t bring me here. They give you plastic gloves to eat their tacos, and their sauces are quite good! It’s an establishment located in a parking lot by Wilson, which means the parking can be full once it’s lunch time.

I'm a lagrima hoe forever so it's 5 stars for me on gawdddd although if I'm being honest the one in salcedo will always be their most goated branch. this one, despite its iconic exterior, is very small and stripped down. also the food here is slightly less better I just couldn't prove it

The vibe of this place is casual but cool, and the food hits that sweet spot between flavorful and filling. I really liked how you can mix and match your taco base, gringa, crunchy, or street style, The shrimp gringa is always a solid choice, but the mushroom surprised me and might just be my new fave

Will definitely going back for Pollo Asado Gringa, for their soft taco with cheese and the grilled chicken was well-seasoned topped with pickeled cucumber. so tasty. Superb Nachos is really superb with house-made salsa on the side. Service is great. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

It’s my 1st time dining here in Lagrima San Juan! We opted for the outdoor dining area. No one was there to see us, so we waved through the window and Jeremy greeted us with a smile. He gave us water before handing the menu, which I think is such a thoughtful gesture and something I really appreciate. Jeremy was really accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was my 1st time, I got a bit overwhelmed by the menu and Jeremy was there to answer all my queries and was able to suggest exceptional menu items. I ordered the shrimp taco with the crispy shell and the birria taco with the soft shell and cheese, along with the nachos and dip. The main star of the dishes were the complimentary sauces. I enjoyed everything fom the flavor to the play of textures. The shrimp taco tasted so clean and was a good starter, aside from the crispy yet not oily chips. Then the birria gave explosive flavors that balanced out the cleanliness of the taste of the shrimp taco. Will surely be back to taste more of their menu items!!! The Palm Tree Abby beer also was such a great pairing with the tacos!!

Been out of the country for a while, had to drop by Lagrima San Juan and it’s still so good Got my favorite tacos—shrimp, lengua, and al pastor! The dirty horchata was the perfect finisher. Melody was a great server and we had a good time

What we ordered: Starter pack : 8/10 consists of 3 small soft tacos (beef, pork, chicken). A bit underwhelmed with this. Beef is also a bit oily since they use beef belly. Pork and chicken are ok. I probably should have ordered the After School special instead of this. Burrito: 7/10 I find this too rice-heavy but glad they're using long-grain rice for this, making it less mushy and lumpy. Super Nachos: 7/10 not a fan of this type of chips. Dish has also become soggy an oily after some time. OG Horchata: 8.5/10 I love this but wish they use smaller ice cubes than the delivered tube ice kind since the glass is just small. I'm already done with my meal but the ice haven't melted yet. Staff is very accommodating especially in helping us find parking space in the area. Great find if you're looking for a quick mexican craving fix and you're already in the area.
